Patent Drafting Attorney/Agent

Harrity & Harrity, LLP is looking for a superstar patent professional to prepare patent applications for leading global technology companies, including numerous Patent 300® companies. This position is 100% remote, flexible hours, and full-time.

The Harrity Academy™

FREE PATENT COURSES

The Harrity Academy™ is a free program which introduces diverse participants to the field of patent law, provides exclusive training, practice materials, and mentorship, and teaches how to effectively and efficiently draft and prosecute high-quality patent applications. The goal of this program is to help increase the number of diverse candidates entering the patent field while enhancing the quality of their overall practice.

The Harrity Academy™ is comprised of three courses: Patent Basics, Patent Drafting, and Patent Prosecution. Courses will be broken into regularly scheduled online classes and include practice assignments, speakers, and one-on-one mentorship throughout the course duration.

Applicant Requirements:

  1. You have or are obtaining a technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent fields from an accredited college or university;
  2. You are able and willing to commit to every scheduled class in the selected course;
  3. You are female and/or considered a minority in the legal field, pursuant to the Vault and Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) Guidelines [African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Alaska Native/American Indian, Asian, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Multiracial, Openly LGBTQ, U.S. Veteran, and/or Individual with Disabilities]
  4. You reside in the U.S. and are registered or eligible to register for the USPTO patent bar

Patent Prosecution Specialist

Are you looking for a rewarding position in an innovative, friendly culture? We are looking for a Patent Prosecution Specialist to join our team!

Responsibilities include:

  • Support of our Patent Prosecution team
  • Preparing and e-filing office action responses, IDSs, petitions, issue fees, and other patent prosecution documents for both US and foreign clients
  • Preparing and sending client correspondence
  • Assisting Prosecution Attorneys with managing daily docket entries relating to the prosecution filing process
  • Assisting other support staff members with review of work and ensuring docketing deadlines are met for all attorneys

Who you are:

  • You have at least 2 years of experience in a patent prosecution support role, specifically in the preparation and filing of responses and all other documents post initial filing with the USPTO
  • You have experience working with EFS-web, Private PAIR, and other USPTO-related portals and websites
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • You have excellent organizational skills
  • You have excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You can get going quickly with minimal training
  • You have a great eye for detail
