The Harrity Partners pledge to give 5% of our profits to our partner charities, and every employee contributes a portion of their paychecks to the partner charities of their choosing.
HARRITY 4 CHARITY ORIGIN STORY
Co-Founding Partner John Harrity suffered a near fatal “widow-maker” heart attack on May 2, 2016. After spending 3 weeks in a coma and 5 more in a grueling recovery in the ICU, and despite 1,000,000-to-1 odds, John fortunately survived. However, most are not so lucky. John’s story and incredible rehabilitation compelled him and brother/co-founder Paul Harrity to create a giving back initiative, thus Harrity 4 Charity was born.
We chose to donate a portion of our profits to Inova Children’s because we want to help families of hospitalized children be able to focus their attention on their sick child and not their financial situation. Inova Children’s Hospital is a premier hospital for pediatric patients. Their state of the art facility treats infants, children, and adolescents in a variety of areas. Harrity & Harrity’s donation will benefit the families of Inova Children’s Hospital’s patients, and will provide them with financial support for child care, medical bills, prescriptions, household bills, travel costs, and other life-changing necessities for pediatric patients.
Patent Pathways® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing barriers to equal opportunity in the patent bar through free, virtual education, practical exercises, ongoing mentorship, career matching, and financial support, thanks to the generosity of our program partners, sponsors, and volunteers. The goal is to transform accessibility to the patent bar by providing each participant with the tools needed to take and pass the patent bar exam, and begin their pathway into a career in patent law. What does “Give 2 Give” mean? At Harrity, Give 2 Give means giving back for the sole purpose of helping others, and expecting nothing in return. It is a shared value among the Harrity team, and one of several facets that makes our culture so unique.
