Erin Wills is an intellectual property attorney, primarily focusing on patent drafting, prosecution, and counseling. She also advises clients on aspects relating to trademark prosecution and enforcement. She has represented various clients in a wide range of technical fields, including mechanical engineering technologies, electromechanical technologies, medical devices, aviation systems, aerospace and defense components, power systems, semiconductors, telecommunications, computer networking, and computer hardware and software systems.
Erin earned her B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering, cum laude, from North Carolina State University, and a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Virginia. She earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Additionally, Ms. Wills has clerked for two U.S. District Court Judges in the Eastern and Western Districts of North Carolina.
Prior to attending law school, Erin held various engineering positions overseeing the manufacture of nuclear reactor components and LED lighting components. Presently, Erin serves as a board member of the Carolina Patent, Trademark, & Copyright Law Association (CPTCLA) and co-chairs a committee for the IP Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. She also volunteers for the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and serves her community through her involvement with the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties.
