James Bennin is a registered patent attorney who has been in the intellectual property (IP) field for approximately 15 years.  He has extensive experience counseling clients on various IP matters and helps protect clients’ intellectual property in the United States and in various other jurisdictions.  James’s practice focuses on preparing patent applications in a variety of technological fields, including electrical and software technologies. He is also well-versed in prosecuting patent applications at all stages of prosecution.

Most recently, James was an associate general counsel at one of the largest universities in the United States, where he handled various transactional matters involving IP, including complex transactions matters.  Prior to that, James was an IP counsel at a large multinational company where he counseled multiple business units on matters related to IP.  He managed a large patent portfolio and handled various transactional matters for those business units.

James is the first recipient of Harrity’s Minority Firm Incubator Program, designed to train, develop, and launch minority-owned patent law firms.
