Julie Swartz has been employed as a Docketing Specialist for Harrity & Harrity since 2019 and currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Harrity, she had over ten years of experience working in the legal field for several large law firms and government agencies, including criminal, civil, and intellectual property litigation. After earning her paralegal degree from Duquesne University in 2015, Julie turned to patent and trademark prosecution and has been working in the field ever since. Per Julie, “What I love about Harrity & Harrity is the variety of work, and IP docketing is a great outlet for someone with a keen eye for detail. Though I’ve been doing this for a while, I am always learning new things and the culture of this firm is one that encourages constant improvement and innovation.”
In her spare time, Julie is a volunteer chef for Lasagna Love. She enjoys Pittsburgh sports, stationary bike riding, gardening, and creative arts. Her original ideas have won contests at Harrity, including the 2022 Patent Pathways design contest, and the naming contest for the Women’s Patent Workshop with her submission ‘Harrity for Parity’.
