BIOGRAPHY

Sherif Mahmoud is a patent prosecution associate working remotely out of Chicago, IL. His experience includes patent prosecution, client counseling, due diligence, and opinions concerning patent validity, enforceability, and infringement.

Sherif has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting US and foreign patents involving technologies in the electrical, software, and mechanical disciplines. Examples of Sherif’s technical expertise include autonomous vehicles (self-driving cars), LIDARs, RADARs, sensors, sensor networks, sensor fusion, telecommunications (e.g., LTE networks), computer networks, robotics, aerial control systems, medical devices, wearable devices, computer architecture, operating systems, 3D object data modeling, speech recognition, text-to-speech synthesis, cloud computing, and machine learning.

Sherif has also drafted and prosecuted over a hundred design patents, including design patents for physical product designs and design patents for software-based designs (graphical user interfaces, animations, etc.).

Prior to joining the firm, Sherif worked for over eight years in several positions a Patent Agent and an associate, where his practice was primarily focused on patent prosecution, due diligence, patent portfolio management, and client counseling. Prior to his legal career, Sherif worked in various positions as a software engineer and an electrical engineer.
