Andre Adkins

Andre Adkins

Counsel

Andre is a South Florida native who has always had a passion for computer technology. This fueled his desire to pursue a computer science degree at Florida State University. During his matriculation, he was exposed to diverse opportunities reflecting the crossover between technology and the law, and particularly related to the field of Intellectual Property, which ultimately led to him applying and getting accepted into Indiana University Maurer School of Law on full scholarship. Subsequently, Andre started his career as a patent attorney in Silicon Valley specializing in patent prosecution for large technology clients such as Oracle, Microsoft, Cisco, Dropbox, Blizzard Entertainment, and the like. This served as a springboard for him to become patent counsel for International Business Machines managing patent portfolios for one of the largest patent filers in the world.

Having drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications, Andre specializes in not only developing patent portfolios domestically and internationally, but also patentability searches, landscape analyses, and patent litigation support. In his free time, Andre enjoys traveling, staying active, going to the beach, volunteering with diversity-based mentorship programs, and spending time with his family.
