Paul Harrity is the founding partner of Harrity & Harrity, LLP, a nationally recognized patent law firm helping leading technology companies protect their most important innovations.
Since founding the firm in 1999, Paul has helped build Harrity into one of the most forward-looking patent practices in the country. Under his leadership, the firm has become known for combining deep patent experience with data, automation, quality systems, and generative AI to deliver more consistent, efficient, and strategic patent preparation and prosecution services.
Paul is focused on the future of patent practice. He leads the firm’s efforts to develop and deploy AI-assisted workflows that support patent drafting, prosecution, quality review, analytics, and client service. His goal is not simply to make patent work faster, but to improve the way patent professionals serve clients, manage complexity, and protect innovation at scale.
As a patent attorney and firm leader, Paul works closely with technology companies on patent strategy, portfolio development, and the systems needed to support high-volume, high-quality patent programs. He has particular experience with innovations in software, computer systems, telecommunications, semiconductor technologies, artificial intelligence, and other advanced technologies.
Paul began his patent career as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he gained firsthand insight into how patent applications are reviewed and evaluated. That experience continues to inform his practical, examiner-aware approach to patent preparation and prosecution.
Today, Paul is especially passionate about helping redefine what a modern patent firm can be: more innovative, more efficient, more transparent, more data-driven, and better equipped to meet the needs of sophisticated technology clients.
