Patent Agent
Ram Patel is a patent agent with experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications for clients, both in the United States and in foreign countries. Such patent applications relate to a variety of mechanical, electrical, biomedical, and software technologies, including medical devices, consumer products, drone systems, cybersecurity platforms, artificial intelligence and machine learning, structural systems, manufacturing processes, and electromechanical devices.
Prior to joining Harrity, Ram practiced as a patent agent at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, where he worked with Fortune 500 clients on patent prosecution matters, drafted patent applications across a broad range of technology areas, conducted freedom-to-operate studies, managed client patent portfolios and corresponded with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He previously served as a patent engineer at Armstrong Teasdale LLP, where he prepared and prosecuted domestic and international patent applications and managed global patent portfolios.
Before entering the intellectual property field, Ram worked as a contractor for the Department of Defense, representing the U.S. Air Force at Hanscom Air Force Base. In that role, he provided engineering and technical oversight for aircraft systems, weapons programs, security infrastructure, warfighting systems, and communication technologies at installations worldwide.
