David brings more than 25 years of in-house intellectual property experience to Harrity & Harrity, along with a diverse technical background spanning the energy, manufacturing, and consumer products industries.
Originally from South Dakota, David earned his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Iowa State University. He began his career with Schlumberger, where he worked on oilfield development in California and Michigan. He later transitioned to the brewing industry, working to improve brewery operations in Texas and Ohio for Miller Brewing Company.
David earned his Juris Doctor from Northern Kentucky University and subsequently began his career as in-house intellectual property counsel. Prior to joining Harrity, he served in IP counsel roles with Procter & Gamble and IBM, gaining extensive experience working at the intersection of intellectual property, technology, and business.
David and his wife, Karen, a retired nurse, reside in upstate New York. They have two adult children and three grandchildren and share their home with an assortment of cats, dogs, chickens, and guinea fowl.
