Sandra Maxey is an accomplished financial executive and business operations leader with more than 28 years of experience in the legal industry. As Controller and Firm Administrator at Harrity & Harrity, Sandra serves as a strategic partner to the firm’s leadership, overseeing the organization’s financial health, operational excellence, and administrative functions. She is responsible for the firm’s financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, accounting, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, risk management, and financial reporting. Sandra also leads the firm’s human resources, technology administration, vendor management, and operational infrastructure, while implementing systems and processes that support continued growth and organizational efficiency.
Working closely with the firm’s executive leadership, Sandra plays a key role in long-term business planning, policy development, resource allocation, and organizational strategy. Her leadership has helped support Harrity’s continued expansion while maintaining a highly efficient, fully remote business model and a culture centered on innovation, collaboration, and exceptional client service.
Beyond her executive responsibilities, Sandra is a passionate advocate for community engagement and corporate philanthropy. As Vice Chair of Harrity’s Charity Committee, she leads the firm’s charitable initiatives, organizes firm-wide fundraising campaigns, coordinates volunteer efforts, and inspires employees to support causes that make a meaningful impact. She also spearheaded a firm-wide COVID-19 relief initiative that provided financial assistance to families, food banks, and small businesses impacted by the pandemic.
Sandra’s commitment to philanthropy has helped establish a nationally recognized culture of giving through Harrity 4 Charity, earning the firm multiple Washington Business Journal Corporate Philanthropy Awards in the Small Companies category.
