Evan Bernstein is a patent attorney with experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications for clients in the United States and foreign countries. Such patent applications relate to various technical fields, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, extended reality systems, robotics, medical and surgical devices, telecommunications, financial technology, and power electronics.
Before joining Harrity & Harrity, Evan practiced as an associate in the Patents and Innovations group at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. At Wilson Sonsini, he managed patent portfolios and developed prosecution strategies for clients ranging from venture-backed start-ups to public companies. His law practice builds on prior experience as a patent agent and has focused on patent drafting, global prosecution, and freedom-to-operate analyses.
Evan received his J.D. from Albany Law School, completing his legal studies while working as a Biotech Production Specialist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. He also worked as an engineering intern in General Electric’s Edison Engineering Development Program, where he developed software for nuclear reactor lifecycle management. Evanearned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is admitted to the New York State Bar and is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Evan enjoys distance running, painting, virtual reality gaming, and attending Orangetheory Fitness classes outside the office. He also volunteers as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
