Matthew Morales is a patent attorney with considerable experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications for clients, both in the United States and in foreign jurisdictions. Such patent applications relate to a variety of biomedical, electrical, and mechanical fields, including implantable osteopathic devices, medical and surgical tools, artificial intelligence and machine learning, renewable energy, and semiconductor technology.
Prior to joining Harrity & Harrity, Matt practiced as a patent attorney at Bookoff McAndrews, PLLC in Washington D.C. Previously, Matt worked as an associate for an IP boutique firm in New York. Matt has managed and developed patent portfolios for a variety of clients ranging from start-ups to public companies. His law practice has focused on patent preparation and prosecution, as well as freedom-to-operate analysis and trademark counseling.
Matt received his J.D. from Albany Law School, where he served as President of the Albany Intellectual Property Society. While obtaining his law degree, Matt also worked as a patent engineer for International Business Machines. Matt earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Binghamton University. He is admitted to the New York State Bar and is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Matt currently resides in upstate New York. He enjoys hiking, traveling, and ziplining.
