BIOGRAPHY

Michael Morano is a patent attorney specializing in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. His practice focuses on electrical, mechanical and computer technologies, including semiconductor devices and manufacturing processes, computer hardware and software, machine learning, natural language processing, networking and mechanical devices.

Prior to joining Harrity & Harrity, LLP, he worked with intellectual property (IP) law firms in New York City and Long Island, NY, where he drafted and prosecuted patent applications, performed patentability, freedom to operate, patent validity and due diligence reviews, and worked on a variety of patent, trademark and copyright litigation matters.  Michael also assisted a number of companies and start-up ventures in software, optoelectronic and medical device fields with procuring patent and trademark protection for their products and services.

While at Fordham University Law School, Michael was a Writing and Research Editor of the Fordham International Law Journal and published a Note about copyright infringement in the digital age. Michael also worked as a law intern for U.S. Magistrate Judge E. Thomas Boyle of the Eastern District of New York. In addition, while in law school, Michael worked for the Juvenile Rights Division of the Legal Aid Society in New York City, where he assisted with the representation of adolescents and teenagers in connection with custody and criminal matters in Family Court.
