BIOGRAPHY

Walli Butt is a Patent Attorney at Harrity & Harrity, LLP, where he focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications for leading technology companies.

Prior to joining the firm, Walli served as a Primary Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in Technology Center 2400 (Computer Networks, Multiplexing, Cable, and Security). During his tenure at the USPTO, Walli examined patent applications specializing in complex technologies including wireless communication networks, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. He consistently earned Docket Management (DM) awards and completed the Signatory Authority Program.

Before his time at the USPTO, Walli worked as a Patent Attorney at a boutique intellectual property firm in Virginia, where he drafted and prosecuted applications for universities. He also brings experience in large-scale commercial litigation and electronic discovery from his time as a Legal Review Analyst.

Walli holds a J.D. from Florida International University School of Law, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Florida International University School of Engineering, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Florida. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the Florida Bar and the American Bar Association.
