Ayana Marshall, Ph.D., has over 12 years experience in the patent field. She is a Patent Data Analyst on the Harrity Analytics team and executes competitive intelligence analyses, portfolio analysis & categorization, and technology landscape analytics. She enjoys diving into volumes of seemingly random data and extracting meaningful value for clients’ patenting, marketing, and business strategies. She loves the “Aha” moments!
She currently coordinates Patent Pathways, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that aims to increase the number of underrepresented minorities registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as patent agents and patent attorneys. Ayana, a self-proclaimed “STEMinist”, is committed to encouraging more women and racially diverse minorities to enter into study in STEM fields and to also become patent practitioners.
For almost a decade prior to joining Harrity, Ayana was a Patent Analyst and Technical Team Lead at CPA Global and Landon IP. She led the Electrical Communications, Computing and Business Methods, and Electrical Engineering & Physical Sciences Groups. While there, Ayana obtained extensive experience in patent research and technical analysis in telecommunications, remote monitoring, technical standards & protocols, medical devices, telemetry, and computing technologies.
She is a wife and a boy mom to 2 amazing children! As a native of the tropical island paradise of Trinidad and Tobago, she savors every opportunity to go to the beach, cook native dishes, and enjoy the warmer months of the year.
